The British actor is in the running for the Best Actor Oscar on Sunday night for his performance as Alan Turing in the biopic film - this is the first Oscar nomination of his acting career.

As well as Best Actor, Tyldum has picked up Best Director, Keira Knightley is nominated for Best Supporting Actress and The Imitation Game is in the race for Best Picture.

As for Cumberbatch, he has been filming the new series of Sherlock - which will air next year - and he has also completed work on Black Mass and Magik, to which he has lent his voice.
