The Fifth Estate is set to see Benedict Cumberbatch take on the role of Julian Assange in a movie about the WikiLeaks scandal.
The movie sees Cumberbatch team up wit Dreamgirls director Bill Condon in what is set to be one of the biggest roles of his film career.
The Fifth Estate will follow the rise of WikiLeaks website and the controversy that followed when confidential government files we revealed.
Cumberbatch plays Assange and stars alongside Daniel Bruhl who will play Daniel Domscheit-Berg.
Dane Stevens and Alicia Vikander are also on the cast list.
Following Daniel Domscheit-Berg (Brühl), an early supporter and eventual colleague of Julian Assange (Cumberbatch), The Fifth Estate traces the heady, early days of WikiLeaks, culminating in the release of a series of controversial and history changing information leaks.
The website’s overnight success brought instant fame to its principal architects and transformed the flow of information to news media and the world at large.
Filming on the movie is underway and could hit the big screen towards the end of the year.
