Benedict Cumberbatch has not been cast in Star Wars VII
There were rumours flying around earlier this week that the British actor was in talks and had even signed on for a role in the upcoming Star Wars movie.
The film would have reunited him with Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams; who has taken over at the helm of the new film.
But a representative for Cumberbatch has dismissed the rumours, telling NY Daily News: "There is no truth to the rumour Benedict has been cast in Star Wars.
"I think the rumours are circling because JJ and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on Star Trek."
Star Trek Into Darkness was one of the biggest film roles of Cumberbatch's career when it hit the big screen this summer.
And he has quickly become one of the most in demand stars as he has a whole host of projects in the pipeline.
He is set to star in The Fifth Estate, August: Osage County and 12 Years A Slave. as well as bring the character of Smaug to life in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
It was also reported this week that the actor is in talks to star in The Lost City of Z; the latest movie from director James Gray.
The Fifth Estate is the next time that we will see Cumberbatch on the big screen as he takes on the role of Julian Assange.
