Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that he has started filming his role in the new Star Trek movie.
It is not yet known which character Cumberbatch will be playing in the sequel but he is one of the new faces on the cast list - and he admits that everyone on the movie has been very welcoming.
Speaking to MTV News the actor said: "I'm kinda getting busy with the film now.I've been away doing other things - 'The Hobbit,' which was fantastic. And so my part of the film is really sorta kicking in now.
"It's great fun, great, great fun. But what I'm trying to say is it's a great thing to come into something that everybody's familiar with and knows each other very well.
"So it's [in] a weird way a very easy thing to get up to speed with, because everybody is so welcoming and gets along with one another."
It has been a busy twelve months for the actor as he has Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and War Horse under his belt.
He is also landed the part of Smaug in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit.
The Star Trek sequel sees J.J. Abrams return to the director's chair while Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana will all be reprising their roles.
The Star Trek sequel will hit the big screen 17th may 2013.
