Baz Luhrmann is believed to be in talks to helm a biopic about Elvis Presley.
It has been reported that Luhrmann has been in talks for several weeks with Warner Bros about the upcoming project.
It has not been revealed what period of Elvis' life the film will focus on, but Kelly Marcel is on board to write the screenplay.
Marcel was behind Saving Mr Banks last year, and has also adapted the novel Fifty Shades of Grey into a screenplay.
Gail Berman is producing for Tecumseh Productions, while Andrew Mittman of Whalerock Industries will executive produce and Warner Bros executive Courtenay Valenti will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.
The studio has secured full rights to all the 'Blue Suede Shoes' hitmaker's back catalogue for the movie.
Luhrmann has been behind films such as Moulin Rouge and Australia during his career.
The Great Gatsby was the last time that he was in the director's chair. This Elvis biopic could well be his very next project should he sign up.
