Arnold Schwarzenegger is to enter talks with Shane Black about starring in 'The Predator' movie.
Schwarzenegger played Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer in the first movie in the franchise, 1987's 'Predator', and admits he has planned a meeting with the upcoming film's director to see if he can take on the role again in the motion picture, which is a sequel to the original.
Speaking at the annual Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, he said: "I haven't talked with him (Shane Black) yet but I'm going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon. Just as soon as I'm finished with this and 'The Apprentice' and all this stuff. But I will get together with him. If there is any news, we'll of course let you know right away. There's also a meeting coming up soon about Conan, about the project moving forward."
Arnold's revelation appears to indicate Dutch could be mentioned in the pre-approved script for the movie, which is expected to be released in 2018, and the star admits he would love to reprise his role as the special forces team leader for his supporters.
He added to fan site The Arnold Fans: "Look, the fans are the most important thing because without the fans, I'd be nothing.
"So I just always want them to know that I appreciate them very much; their loyalty, their dedication, and their passion about all the stuff that I'm doing. So, thank you."
Dutch was mentioned in both 1990's 'Predator 2' and 'Predators' in 2010, which starred Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, and Danny Trejo, but Arnold didn't appear in either film.
