Anthony and Joe Russo say that they wanted a more 'contemporary' feel to Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War.

Marvel will bring their own Spider-Man solo film to the big screen in 2017 and the character - played by Tom Holland - will make his first appearance in the third solo Captain America film next week.
In a new video interview, the filmmaking duo talks about their vision for Spider-Man and what they were trying to achieve with this character, saying: "Sometimes there's an old-fashioned patina to the tone of who Spider-Man is.
"We wanted to think about who is Spider-Man today if he's living in Queens, what's the texture of his life like, what's the texture of his relationship with his aunt who lives with him. How can we make the relationship and character very contemporary? That's our goal with the character."
Captain America: Civil War will be the second Marvel film for Anthony and Joe Russo, who steered Captain America: The Winter Soldier to both critical and commercial success last year.
They have juggled are large cast for Civil War as Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, and Elizabeth Olsen are just some of the actors who will be making an appearance.
And Spider-Man will not be the only new hero that we will be introduced to as Chadwick Boseman is also set to appear in the film as Black Panther - another character that has a solo film on the horizon.
Captain America: Civil War looks set to be another huge hit for the Russo's and could be the first Captain America film to gross over $1 billion. This will be the first time that we have seen Captain America on the big screen since Avengers: Age of Ultron and this movie kick off Phase 3 of Marvel films in style.
And there's more success ahead for Anthony and Joe Russo as they are set to take over the director's chair of the Avengers franchise from Joss Whedon to helm both parts of the upcoming Infinity War. They are due to start filming this double film project next year.
