Paul Rudd has been cast as Ant-Man in director Edgar Wright's new Marvel Comics movie venture.

The funny man currently starring in Anchorman is to play the part of bio-chemist Dr Hank Pym, who invents a formula which allows him to shrink to the size of an ant, in the new super hero film.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt lost out to Rudd

Reports suggest he won the role over Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who was an early frontrunner to land the part.
