Peyton Reed has revealed that Ant-Man and the Wasp will explore the partnership and relationship between the two title characters.
Ant-Man was another hit for Marvel earlier this year and it has been announced that a sequel - Ant-Man and the Wasp is already in the pipeline.
The movie will see Reed return to the director's chair with Paul Rudd returning as Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly being introduced as The Wasp for the first time.
Speaking to Newsarama about the movie, the director said: "Part of [the] thing that we're going to explore, as shown in the comics, is how [the Ant-Man and Wasp] are such a great duo and partnership.
"Part of that, in any partnership, is how they relate to each other as people. Where will their personal relationship be at that point, and what will be their fighting style together?"
And Reed revealed that the sequel is going to me a 'weirder movie,' he continued: "The goal is to keep what we really liked for the characters in the first one, but to make it a much weirder movie."
However, we do have a bit of a wait until the film hits the big screen as Ant-Man and the Wasp is not scheduled until 2018. However, we are going to see Paul Rudd make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War next year.
Ant-Man brought Phase 2 of Marvel movies to a close this summer as Reed directed a Marvel film for the first time.
The movie, which was the biggest film of Rudd's career, grossed over $518 million at the global box office and was a fantastic introduction to this new character.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is released 6th July 2018 in the U.S. - no UK release date has yet been announced.
