Ansel Elgort is set to play piano prodigy in Van Cliburn in a brand new biopic.
The movie is based on the book by Howard Reich, that life of the pianist who emerged from nowhere in 1958 to win the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow.
Deadline have reported that Elgort is aboard the project, while Andrew Stern is set to adapt the book into a screenplay.
However, there is currently no director attached to the project.
Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are producing with Ari Daniel Pinchot and Robert M. Johnson acting as executive producer.
Elgort is a pianist himself, and a graduate of LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts.
This last year has seen Elgort really make a name for himself with roles in Divergent and The Fault In Our Stars.
Elgort is currently filming Insurgent, where he will reprise the role of Caleb.
He is also set to star in Men, Women & Children with Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner and Emma Thompson.
