Anne Hathaway was originally lined up for Silver Linings Playbook, according to producer Harvey Weinstein.
Hathaway was set to play the role of Tiffany, the part that Jennifer Lawrence won a Best Actress Oscar for last year.
And while Weinstein heaps praise on Hathaway, he says that the actress has creative difference with director David O.Russell.
Speaking to Howard Stern on his radio show, Harvey said: "Silver Linings Playbook was originally going to be with Anne Hathaway and Mark Wahlberg... and then Anne wasn't doing it.
"We got her. We had Annie and then we had Mark... then whatever happened, happened. David and Anne had some creative differences. They didn't see eye-to-eye."
"And she's marvelous, and wonderful and she was my choice, I love her."
The final line-up for Silver Linings Playbook saw Lawrence star alongside Bradley Cooper. The movie was a critical smash and both Cooper and Lawrence were nominated for an Oscar.
Hathaway may have missed out on the role, but she still collected a Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the beginning of 2013 for Les Miserables.
