Anne Hathaway has revealed that she would love to do a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada should the opportunity ever arise.

Hathaway took on the role of Andy Sachs in the 2006 film, which was an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, alongside Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt.

The film was a huge success and it was a role that Hathaway loved, and while she would be up for doing a sequel, she doesn’t think that it would go ahead.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, the actress said: "Wouldn't that be fun? I'd love to do that but I don't know if there is any plan for it."

The Devil Wears Prada marked the first time that Hathaway had worked with Streep and admits that the actress was very maternal… until she got into character as Miranda Priestly.

She continued: "She's fun and super maternal. When I met her she gave me a huge hug and I'm like, 'Oh my god, we are going to have the best time on this movie', and then she's like, 'Ah sweetie, that's the last time I'm nice to you'.

"She then went into her trailer and came out the ice queen and that was really the last I saw of 'Meryl' for months, until we promoted the film."

The Devil Wears Prada was a huge hit when it was released and was one of the movies that really did help to send Hathaway’s star rocketing.

Today, Hathaway is an Oscar winner and is one of the most in demand actresses in Hollywood. She is set to return to the big screen this week as she reunites with director Christopher Nolan for sci-fi epic Interstellar.

Interstellar will mark the second time that Hathaway has worked with Nolan, after taking on the role of Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises back in 2012: Interstellar is the first film for Nolan since that box office success.

As for Hathaway, she is currently working on new film The Intern, which is directed by Nancy Meyers and will also star Robert De Niro and Rene Russo. She will also be reprising the role of the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass.

The movie is the sequel to the 2010 box office smash, and will see Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp return. However, Tim Burton will not be in the director’s chair as James Bobin is on board.

Interstellar is released 7th November.
