Anna Kendrick thinks making 'Trolls' was good for her mental health.
The 31-year-old actress voices perky Princess Poppy opposite Justin Timberlake as grumpy fellow troll Branch, and the brunette beauty admits she is far more like the singer's character than her own in everyday life.
She said: "Justin's character is more indicative of my outlook on the world.
"That made it good for me to go do these recording sessions as a relentlessly positive 6in creature.
"It was probably good for my mental health."
The 'Pitch Perfect' star is known for her comedic work and humorous social media postings, and admits poking fun at herself helps her feel less pressure to be "polished".
She said: "The best comedy is really truthful and I think poking fun or embarrassing myself takes some of the pressure off me to feel polished in the world.
"Social media has allowed me to take any high expectations that might exist and just lower them right down, which is where I like it."
Anna is still stunned her 'Pitch Perfect' audition piece - a performance of 'Cups (When I'm Gone') sang a capella using drinking glasses as percussion - has become such a huge phenomenon, with the performance adapted for the film, reaching the Billboard Top 10 and even used by President Obama to open his final White House Correspondents; dinner speech earlier this year.
She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "I learned and used it as an audition piece just to show them, 'Oh by the way, I sing and here's what I do and there's this silly cup thing that goes with it and isn't it silly and awesome?'
"They put it in the movie and then the President used it. It doesn't even make logical sense to me."
