Anna Kendrick has described auditioning for The Last Five Years as a 'terrifying experience.'

The Last Five Years is just one of the three musical projects that we are going to see Kendrick star in this year, and the actress revealed that she had to audition twice for the central role.
Kendrick is set to play Cathy Hiatt in the film, which is based on the musical penned by Broadway songwriter Jason Robert Brown.
Kendrick had to audition in front of Brown for the role and admits that he was a very difficult man to read.
Talking about the experience, the actress said: "I figured at some point they would want to make sure that I could sing it, so I had to go to Jason's house and sing two songs for him from the show. That was a completely terrifying experience.
"He is a difficult man to read. So the most enthusiastic response that I got was that 'we are in good shape.'"
The Last Five Years sees Kendrick team up with filmmaker Richard LaGravenese for the first time, as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since Beautiful Creatures.
LaGravenese is, of course, no stranger to the director's chair with the likes of P.S. I Love You and Freedom Writers also under his belt in recent years, but this will be the first time that he has tackled a musical project.
Kendrick takes on the role of Cathy in the film, and is joined on the cast list by Jeremy Jordan, Tamara Mintz, and Cassandra Inman.
Kendrick has also enjoyed big box office and critical success this year with Into The Woods, and she will be returning to the role of Beca in musical sequel Pitch Perfect 2 - which is set to be a big hit.
Away from the musical genre, Kendrick has also completed work on The Hollars, Get A Job, and Mr Right and she is now filming The Accountant.
The Accountant sees Gavin O'Connor in the director's chair, while Ben Affleck, J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, John Lithgow, and Jeffrey Tambor are all also on the cast list.
The Last Five Years is released later this year.
