Andrew Garfield says that he would love to be part of a Spider Man/Avengers crossover movie someday.
Garfield is set to reprise the role of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider Man 2 later this year, but it doesn’t look like we will be seeing him in an Avengers film any time soon.
While Spider Man is part of the Marvel family and the Avengers group, the Spider man rights belong to Sony making a crossover difficult. However, it is something that Garfield still hopes for.
Speaking to Yahoo, the actor said: "I would love that. I know that the fans would love that, the fans of the Marvel universe… the more the merrier, the bigger the better.
"I say 'never say never', you know. I think everyone would love to see that."
Garfield is not the only actor that has voiced hope that studios could come together, as Hugh Jackman voiced his desire to see Wolverine in an Avengers film.
Much like Spider Man, while X-Men is also part of the Marvel family the rights are currently held by Fox.
As for Garfield, The Amazing Spider Man 2 will be the second time that he has taken on the title role, as he reunites with director Marc Webb. It was announced last week that Webb would be back to direct the third film in the franchise.
A second Avengers film, Avengers: Age of Ultron, will hit the big screen in 2015 and see Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk and Hawkeye will all return. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be two of the new characters to watch out for.
The Amazing Spider Man 2 is released 18th April.
