Filmmakers James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez unite to bring audiences Alita: Battle Angel this December, based on the graphic novel series Gunnm by Yukito Kishiro. With a screenplay adapted from the manga by Cameron and Rodriguez alongside Laeta Kalogridis, the movie looks to be one of the most stunning and jaw-dropping of the year, and this week, we got another first look at the flick with a second official trailer. You can check it out below:

Produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the movie stars Rosa Salazar as the titular Alita; a woman who awakens with no memory of who she is in a world she doesn’t recognise. Fortunately, compassionate doctor Ido (Christoph Waltz) takes her in and realises that this young woman has an emotional and extraordinary past that he hopes to shield her from forever.

Learning to navigate the streets of Iron City, Alita makes a friend in the street-smart Hugo (Keean Johnson), and instead of trying to stop her memories from flooding back to her, he does his all to help trigger what’s lying dormant in her mind.

Discovering a clue to her history, Alita realises she has unique fighting abilities which those in power seek to control. Hoping to stay out of their way, she could save not only her friends and family, but the entire world she’s grown to love, in one of the most compelling and visually stunning stories to come to cinema.

Alita: Battle Angel will come to cinemas and IMAX 3D across the UK in December 2018.
