Alice Eve finds the movie industry's gender pay gap "mind-boggling".
Eve has become the latest Hollywood figure to hit out at the pay disparity between men and women in the movie business, following recent critical comments from Oscar-winning star Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Chastain.
The 'Star Trek Into Darkness' actress told Digital Spy: "I think we've come a long away - the fact that the conversation is now so alive and so topical is fantastic.
"At the same time we've still got a long way to go - women still on the whole get paid 17 percent less than men and that's across the board, nurses included, which is kind of mind-boggling. And there are lots of areas where it would be great if we were awarded equally."
Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner said earlier this week that "it's not [his] job" to help actresses negotiate their salaries.
He admitted: "I don't know contracts and money and all that sort of stuff. I'm a performer and I know human behaviour. When it comes to that sort of stuff I let other people deal with that. I do what I'm good at, that's what I focus on."
