Adele was considered by Bradley Cooper for Lady Gaga's role in their 2018 version of 'A Star Is Born'.
The 'Hello' hitmaker, 35, was one of the singers the movie's director and leading male thought could portray the role of waitress-turned-superstar Ally alongside himself as washed-up country rock musician Jackson 'Jack' Maine.
Speaking at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival recently, Cooper said: “I thought about Adele for a while.
"It was like, his career’s not great. He goes abroad. He meets this woman, but no - and then that never even took off at all."
It was already known that Beyonce was set to take on the part but was forced to pull out.
He recalled of the 42-year-old pop superstar's try-out : “She was incredible.
"And we went down the road and then it didn’t work out. I remember I was so nervous. I had this weird cough as I was pitching it to her.”
What's more, former White Stripes rocker Jack White, 48, was being eyed to portray Cooper's role.
Gaga and Cooper ended up winning the Oscar for Best Original Song for their duet of 'Shallow' from the film.
The film's soundtrack sold more than six million copies worldwide and received a BAFTA Award and four Grammy Award wins out of seven nominations, including nominations for Song of the Year two years in a row.
Adele previously revealed she was open to pursuing an acting career - but for one movie only, which remains a mystery.
She told Vanity Fair: “There is one movie I want to do, but the guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it.
“I bug him every now and then about it, but he’s just not there yet. But that’s the only role I ever want. Because I think I’d nail it. I think I’d do really, really, really good at it.”
