Adam Driver says that his military training helped his pursue an acting career because he wasn't intimidated by it.
Driver trained as a Marine before leaving the military to go and study at Julliard instead.
And with that experience under his belt, he actor admits that he felt that he was ready to face whatever came his way with acting.
Speaking to the Press Association, Driver said: "Suddenly, I wasn't intimidated by anything," said Adam, 30. "I thought that acting could be pretty simple.
"When I happened to get into school, I felt like I could approach it as aggressively as things in the military."
Driver really grabbed everyone's attention after landing the role of Adam Sackler in TV series Girls. However, 2014 has seen hit make the transition onto the big screen.
We have already seen the actor start in Inside Llewyn Davis, What If, and Tracks.
As if that wasn't enough, we are also going to be seeing him in Hungry Hearts, While We're Young and This Is Where I Leave You between now and the end of the year.
Driver has also completed work on Midnight Special and is currently filming on Star Wars: Episode VII.
While it his role in the latest Star Wars film has not been revealed, it has been suggested this week that he will not be playing the villain in the film.
J.J. Abrams is in the director's chair, while Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and Lupita Nyong'o are some of the new names on the cast list.
