Aaron Taylor-Johnson says that filming Godzilla feels more like working on an independent.
The actor lines up alongside Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche in the Gareth Edwards directed blockbuster.
But the small crew that the director is using is giving the film a more intimate feel.
Speaking to Total Film the actor said: "The Godzilla crew is such a small group of people that it feels more like an independent movie than anything I've ever worked on."
The British actor also revealed that he has not had to do too much green screen for the film.
"I've hardly done any green screen stuff for it, he's (Edwards) really clever at doing the special effects.
"We'll shoot everything raw on location, on the streets, and he's going to put it all around us."
Godzilla is the first film for Edwards since he made his breakthrough with debut Monsters back in 2010.
As for Taylor-Johnson he is back on the big screen this summer as he reprises the title role in Kick Ass 2.
Godzilla is released 16th May 2014.
