A United Kingdom is set to hit the big screen in the UK on 25th November.
It was announced earlier this summer that A United Kingdom was going to open the BFI London Film Festival this autumn, which will also be the film's European premiere.
The movie will mark the return of Amma Asante to the director's chair for her first feature since the success of Belle back in 2014.
A United Kingdom will be the third feature film of Asante's filmmaking career and could well be her biggest success to date. Guy Hibbert is also on board as writer and executive producer.
The film is based on the true-life romance between Seretse Khama and his wife Ruth Williams Khama, and sees David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike team up to take on the central roles.
Jack Lowden, Terry Pheto, Vusi Kunene, Jack Davenport, and Tom Felton complete the very exciting cast list.
The film tells the true story of Seretse Khama, King of Bechuanaland (modern Botswana), and Ruth Williams, the London office worker he married in 1947 in the face of fierce opposition from their families and the British and South African governments.
A United Kingdom will kick off the BFI London Film Festival in style and is set to be a British film that is not to be missed this autumn.
A United Kingdom is released 25th November.
