Zachary Quinto has revealed that Khan may be the villain in the next Star Trek movie.
This summer saw the long standing sci-fi franchise rebooted with an entirely new cast as filmmaker J.J. Abrams took the story of the Enterprise right back to the beginning.
After topping the box office and receiving great reviews from the critics a sequel seemed inevitable and screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are already planning a script.
Heroes favourite Quinto took over the role of Spock from Leonard Nimoy, who made an appearance in the new film, in the movie .
Speaking to Sci-Fi Wire he said: "Star Trek is a priority, certainly, but I don't think anybody's in a hurry. Of course, the fans and the studio would love it to come out next summer if it could.
"I think it's going to be much better served by taking time and being clear about the story that they want to tell. Whether or not that involves Khan or Mr [William] Shatner remains to be seen."
