Zachary Levi is being tipped to take over the role of Fandral in Thor 2.
Josh Dallas took on the part in the first movie last year but he is unable to return due to his filming commitments to TV series Once Upon A Time.
Levi missed out on the role of Fandral in the original film because he had a scheduling conflict of his own.
The movie is set to begin filming later this year and will see Chris Hemsworth return to play the title character.
Natalie Portman is also back as Jane Foster while Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba will also be reprising the roles of Loki, Odin and Heimdall.
The movie will be helmed by Games of Thrones director Alan Taylor as he takes over from Kenneth Branagh.
Thor 2 is scheduled for a November 2013 release.
