Zac Efron admits that he clicked with his co-star Taylor Schilling as soon as they met.
The pair have teamed up for new romance movie The Lucky One, which is the latest Nicholas Sparks novel to be adapted for the big screen.
And Efron reveals that even from as early as the screen test the pair had a really chemistry together.
Speaking to Flick and Bits Efron said: "It was weird, it was a screen test I think. You kind of get thrown into it, and either you click or you don't.
"I'm pretty sure you know right away; thankfully we clicked right away. It was instant. We were hitting our stride almost immediately."
And while this may be only Schilling's third movie Efron says that he learnt a lot for working alongside the actress.
"I found that I learnt a lot from her, which is always refreshing... it's a refreshing quality to see in your leading lady, it's fun.
"She's hilarious but she's very focused when it comes to the work. I was blown away by her."
The Lucky One follows a Marine who, after returning from duty, goes looking for the unknown woman in a photograph he has been carrying during his time in Iraq.
The Lucky One is released 2nd May
