Woody Allen has revealed that she stopped filming in New York due to high production costs.
The director has filmed his last five movies in and around Europe over the lat few years after a string of picture set in the U.S
Talking to Reuters he said: "I do them abroad because I can't really afford to shoot in New York because it's too expensive for me".
"I can make the money stretch further if I'm shooting in London or shooting in Barcelona. Here it's more expensive, although I had enough money to make this particular film."
However the move to Europe hasn't been too successful for Allen with Scoop and Cassandra's Dream. both of which were shot in London being met with negative reviews and doing poorly at the box office.
However this run of bad luck was broken earlier this year with the release of Vicky, Cristina Barcelona, which scooped a Golden Globe and a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Penelope Cruz.
