Winona Ryder is just the latest name to be added to the Star Trek cast list as it has been announced that she will play the mother of a young Spock.Directed by J J Abrams the new film, which will be the eleventh big screen release, will follow young members of the Enterprise as they leave on their first mission.Ryder joins Eric Banna as baddie Nero, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Heroes' Zachary Quinto as Spock and Chris Pine as Captain Kirk.This weekend open audition were held to find people with 'unique' features to appear as extras.The studio were looking for 'long necks, small heads, bug eyes, large foreheads and oversized ears.'Filmin will get underway early next years for a December 25 2008 release in America.
