Wesley Snipes looks set to play James Brown.
The Blade actor is believed to have been given the seal of approval from Brown's daughter to play the musician in a new biopic movie.
In an interview with FHM Snipes said: "It's still in the works, we are putting the money together, I have met with his daughters and gotten their blessings."
"It will take me a year, I imagine. Right before the world ends in 2012 I will give you James Brown."
And Snipes admits that he was heavily influenced by music as he was growing up as James Brown's records were regularly played.
"When I grew up, I started as a dancer and a singer and the two most influential people in my life were Michael Jackson and James Brown. Every day we listened to Michael Jackson and James Brown in my house.
So now, with my kids, every day we hear a little bit of James Brown, a little bit of Michael Jackson."
Snipes hasn't been seen in a movie since The Art of War II: Betrayal back in 2008 but makes his return next week with Brooklyn's Finest, which is directed by Antoine Fuqua.
