Watchmen's box office success continues as it toppled Slumdog Millionaire from the top spot in the UK.

The film, an adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel, has also dominated the US chart this weekend and has grossed over £3 million in the UK this weekend.

Danny Boyle's Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire had to be content with the number two spot, the film still grossed over £1 million.

Gran Torino also fell one place to round off the top three.

The Young Victoria was the only other new entry in at number four. Starring Emily Blunt in her first lead role and Rupert Friend and follows the early years of Queen Victoria's reign and her romance with Prince Albert.

The top four movies all broke the £1 million barrier.

The Unborn was this week's biggest faller dropping four place from three to seven. Clive Owen's The International was another faller as it slumped to number nine after just two weeks.
