Ving Rhames is suing the producers of his latest movie, alleging they failed to pay him for his work on the project.

Red Canvas writer/director Kenneth Chamitoff promised Rhames $200,000 (£125,000) for six days of work on the action film, according to a lawsuit filed by the actor in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (19Feb10).

The Pulp Fiction star claims he only received $175,000 (£109,000) of the sum after a "stop payment" was put on his final $25,000 (£17,000) paycheck.

He's now suing Chamitoff and Red Canvas Productions for fraud and breach of contract, reports TMZ.com.

2009 was a busy year for the Pulp Fiction actor with Surrogates and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard under his belt.

He is set to star alongside Freddie Highmore in Master Harold...and the Boys, which is based on the original theatre play of the same name by Oscar winner Athol Fugard.

Also in the pipeline for the actor this year is Piranha 3-D, a remake of the 1978 horror movie.
