Vin Diesel has reportedly signed up to for a third xXx movie, which is set to be filmed in 3D.
The actor will reprise the role of Xander Cage with original filmmaker Rob Cohen also returning to the franchise.
Both Diesel and Cohen opted not to return for the second film xXx: State of the Union back in 2005, ice Cube took over the lead role while Lee Tamahori directed.
The movie will be shot with 3D cameras. following in the footsteps of Avatar and is expected in cinemas in 2012.
Speaking to Deadline Cohen said: I feel what we did in the beginning of the decade was bring a different attitude to the action movie and a different kind of hero," Cohen said.
He added: "With the new 3D instrument and the techniques I can apply, we can create a different kind of cutting-edge experience in 3D by shooting it that way from the beginning the way James Cameron did Avatar."
xXx is just one of a string of projects in the pipeline for Diesel as he is also set to return to the role of Dominic Toretto for a fifth Fast and the Furious movie as well as reprising the character of Riddick.
