Vanessa Hudgens is keen to shed her Disney-star image, so she can land adult roles in "R-rated films".
The actress found fame as the star of the teen-favourite High School Musical series, but her image has been tarnished by a series of nude photo leaks.
Hudgens hints the scandals won't damage her longterm career plans because she's ready to move on from being a child star.
The 20 year old tells America's Star magazine, "The fact that kids look up to me is extremely flattering.
"But at the end of the day, I want to do R-rated films that are a little edgier."
The actress is currently embroiled in a second nude pictures scandal and was left red faced last weekend when comedian Dane Cook told her to leave her clothes on.
The pair were at the Teen Choice Awards when Cook, who was presenting the Female Hottie Award, searched for Hudgens in the audience before saying: "Vanessa Hudgens! - Girl, you got to keep your clothes on!"
