Vanessa Hudgens has admitted that she would love to take on the part of Janis Joplin.
A Janis Joplin biopic movie has long since been in the pipeline with the likes of Zoey Deschanel linked to the role back in 2006.
In an interview with MTV the actress said: "I don't know [why]. In Beastly, there's a Halloween party, and it's kind of a high school Halloween party. All the girls are dressed up as sl*ts, and my character comes in as Janis Joplin."
"I know I don't look much like her, but you can always hope, right?"
The actress shot to fame in the High School Musical series of movies, the third of which was released in October last year.
She returns to the big screen this week in a similar style movie Bandslam as Sa5m, yes that really is the character's name, a teenager with undiscovered music talents.
Next year she will team up with Alex Petyffer for Beastly, based on the novel of the same name, and Sucker Punch.
