Vanessa Hudgens believes that Sucker Punch has allowed her to 'step up' and 'grow' as an actress.
The actress will be back on the big screen next week as she teams up with Emily Browning, Jena Malone and Abbie Cornish for the latest movie by Zack Snyder.
Speaking to The Sun the actress said: "I finished Sucker Punch in December. I'd leave work feeling amazing because I'd had a super badass fight sequence and got to shoot super big guns.
"I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up.
"Women are taking over. I feel like it's something we've recently discovered, true woman empowerment. It's a great thing. Everyone loves it."
And the actress reveals that she wants more actress to be given roles that allows then to 'kick ass.'
"They're watching Angelina Jolie kick ass. So it's like you might as well bring some younger women into the picture and show them being super strong and fending for themselves because it's not something that's been done and I feel we're just starting to touch it."
Sucker Punch is released 1st April.
