Uwe Boll has hit out at the Terrence Malick directed movie Tree of Life calling it a 'piece of s**t.'
Tree of Life sees Malick return to the director's chair for the first time since The NEw World back in 2006.
The movie brings together an impressive cast of Brad Pitt and Sean Penn and picked up the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
However Boll has criticised the movie.
Speaking to Screen Junkies the filmmaker said: "I totally hated that movie because I feel as a filmmaker that besides the fact that Terrence Malick did some great visuals on some movies, also on The New World, like the opening of that movie was really good but then he completely lost it.
"I think Tree of Life is a piece of s**t. Totally, and I think Sean Penn is ridiculous in it, like walking around in the elevator.
"It's nothing. This is the thing. It's so overrated because it's Terrence Malick."
Tree of Life is released 8th July.
