Honey Ryder is just what the doctor ordered for the majority of James-Bond loving men who have named the actress from Dr No as their all-time favourite Bond girl pin up.
Ursula Andress, the Swiss born actress who played the part of Bond girl Honey Ryder in the first James Bond film is fondly remembered for her entrance in the movie, emerging from the ocean in a white bikini.
Halle Berry polled the most votes amongst younger men with 21 per cent naming Giacinta ‘Jinx’ Johnson from Die Another Day as the most attractive Bond girl.
A new survey* from the UK’s longest-established jewellers and pawnbrokers Suttons and Robertsons also reveals that more than a third (39 per cent) of men have named the Aston Martin V12 DBS Coupe as their must-have item.
The 2008 Aston Martin driven by Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace recently sold for £241,250 in a Christie’s charity sale to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first 007 movie Dr No.
The Suttons and Robertsons survey also reveals that the Aston Martin DB5 - the first and arguably most recognisable James Bond car, which first appeared in Goldfinger and also makes a return in Skyfall - is also an iconic car with over a quarter (29 per cent) of men surveyed saying it would top their shopping list.
While Daniel Craig embarks on his latest role as 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd film in the series, nearly half (42 per cent) of those questioned cited Sean Connery as the James Bond actor they’d most like to go for a beer with, twice as many (21 per cent) as Craig.
Jim Tannahill of Suttons and Robertsons, a pawnbroking business offering loans of up to £1 million to asset-rich individuals and business customers, said: "Our findings show that our nation of Bond-loving male movie fans would most love to get their hands on Ursula Andress or Halle Berry - as well as the 2008 Aston Martin coupe from Quantum of Solace.
"It’s easy to see why this car was the most expensive item sold recently at Christie’s but with the previously mothballed Aston Martin DB5 set to feature heavily in Skyfall there is little doubt that this too will rocket in value."
Suttons and Robertsons, which has recently started to offer loans against motor vehicles including cars and motorcycles, has held fascinating and exceptional items as pledges including a 19th Century Russian side cabinet that belonged to Tsar Nicholas II as well as artwork by Salvador Dali, David Hockney, and Damien Hirst.
Jim Tannahill adds: "The handful of brands closely associated with the Bond franchise such as the Rolex submariner and Omega Seamaster watches are also highly prized assets close to the nation’s heart and synomonous with the James Bond brand.
"With only 5007 pieces available worldwide, the titanium Omega Seamaster Professional Planet Ocean Watch worn by Daniel Craig in Skyfall will join the list of highly sought after collectables of considerable worth.
"Anyone owning an iconic item that becomes used in a major film release could well be in double-O-heaven if they were to have it valued."
