Transformers: Dark of the Moon has put in a strong performance at the box office this weekend and has stormed to the #1 spot with $97.4 million.
Baring in mind that the movie actually opened last Wednesday and the movie has in fact taken a whopping $161.1m in the U.S. alone.
The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and to learn its secrets.
It's believed to be the final Transformers movie for both Shia LaBeouf and Michael Bay and it seems that the pair are set to go out with a bang.
Despite mixed reviews for the film fans have flocked to cinemas to see the latest instalment to a franchise that has already grossed in excess of $1 billion.
Cars 2 had spent just a single week ant number one and slipped just a single place as it took a further $25.1 million over the weekend.
Bad Teacher was also down one at number three. Larry Crowne, which sees Tom Hanks direct as well as star in the movie was new at number four.
Monte Carlo was the third and final new entry inside the top ten this week as it opened at number five.
Super 8 was down two at six while Green Lantern was the biggest fallers as it dropped four places to seven.
Mr Popper's Penguins was down three to eight while Bridesmaids dropped just a single place to nine. Midnight in Paris held onto ten.
