Tommy Lee Jones has quit his role as director and actor on The Lincoln Lawyer due to creative differences.
The Oscar-winner was set to helm the movie, as well as co-starring alongside Matthew McConaughey in the adaptation of Michael Connelly's hit novel.
But the Men In Black star has decided to bow out of the project after having differing ideas for the script from screenwriter John Romano, according to Variety.
The studio, Lakeshore Entertainment, is now looking for another filmmaker and star before the production begins shooting in spring 2010.
In The Electric Mist is Jones' only venture on the big screen this year having taken a break after the success of No Country For Old Men and In The Valley of Elah at the beginning of 2008.
He has just completed work on The Company Men, which also stars Ben Affleck and Kevin Costner and will be released next year.
