Tom Hiddleston has revealed that Thor 2 does not yet have a director.
The actor took on the role of Loki earlier this year alongside Chris Hemsworth in the Kenneth Branagh directed movie.
Despite it's success Branagh announced that he would not be returning for the sequel and a search for the successor got underway.
Brian Kirk had been linked to the movie but Hiddleston admits that he has not yet been appointed.
Speaking to MTV News the actor said: "I haven't [spoken to Kirk]. I also don't know that that's actually confirmed. That's not me being coy.
"I spoke to [Marvel president of production] Kevin Feige last week on [the Avengers] set and he said, 'Oh no, we haven't got anyone yet. We're thinking about people'.
"I think [Brian Kirk's] name is definitely in the hat, but I don't think anything is solid."
The actor is currently reprising the role of Loki in The Avengers - which brings together Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Hemsworth as Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Hawkeye and Thor.
The Avenger is released 4th May 2012.
