Tom Hiddleston has revealed that he was worried that his performance in Thor was going to be 'rubbish'.
The British actor took on the role of Loki for the first time last summer in Thor and reprised the role earlier this summer in Avengers Assemble.
Speaking to Assignment X the actor said: "I also felt like I'd been rubbish in Thor [and] there was no way I was going to come back.
"So it was one step at a time and I was very lucky that, as we were coming to the end of shooting Thor, [Kenneth] Branagh showed Joss [Whedon] a rough cut of the film and Joss loved it.
"He loved what Ken had done with it and was really about what Chris [Hemsworth] and I had done on it."
"[Whedon] said, 'I want to take that relationship and make the stakes higher. You've got these two brothers who are fighting each other and now what's at stake is the fate of Planet Earth, because that's what's going on'."
And he will be returning to the character once more when filming on Thor 2 gets underway later this year.
The movie sees Chris Hemsworth return as Thor while Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba will also be back.
