Tom Hanks has revealed that he would reprise the role of Robert Langdon for a third time.
The actor will return to the Langdon, the puzzle-cracking professor, when the controversial movie Angels & Demons hits cinema screens.
Speaking to Access Hollywood the actor said: "If it makes sense I’ll be happy to," he said. "It doesn’t come down to where it takes place or what the character is.
"It really comes down to... is it going to examine a theme that’s going to be worthy of making another movie?"
The film comes three years after The Da Vinci Code which, despite grossing over $758 million, was heavily criticised by the Roman Catholic Church due to controversial interpretations and factual inaccuracies of Christian history.
The film received it's world premiere on Monday night in Rome. But filmmaker Ron Howard has accused the Vatican of deliberately obstructing the filming of the new movie while they were shooting in Rome.
Robert Langdon is summoned by CERN to investigate a murder branded with an Illuminati symbol. But he uncovers a plot to kill four Roman Catholic cardinals and destroy St Peter's Basilica with stolen antimatter during a papal conclave.
Angels & Demons is released 14th May.
