Tom Hanks has revealed that he feels lucky to be about to work with Sandra Bullock and admits that he has always been a fan of her work.
The two Oscar winners are all set to team up for new movie Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, a big screen adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel.
Speaking to MTV the actor said: "Well, I have left a voicemail for Sandra... Sandy. Can I call her Sandy? I can call her Sandy. I think she called the office back, but I hope to talk to her very, very, very soon," he said.
"The story is magnificent. Eric Roth wrote a brilliant screenplay, which makes our lives very easy because you just read it and you say, 'I would be honoured to be a part of this'."
"I am a huge Sandra Bullock fan. I've only met her a couple of times. She is a magnificent actress. And every time we've seen her, even just as recently as The Proposal and The Blind Side we've thought, 'We'd be lucky to work with her'."
This will be the first movie for Bullock since she won an Oscar for The Blind Side earlier this year - it was the very first nomination for the actress.
Tom Hanks is enjoying major box office success right now as he returned to voicing the character of Woody for Toy Story 3, the movie has gone on to break the $1 billion barrier.
However we haven't seen Hanks on the big screen since Angels & Demons back in 2009 but he will be making a return with Larry Crowne next year, a movie that he has directed.
