Todd Phillips has heaped praise on actor Zach Galifianakis.
The pair worked together on last year's monster comedy hit The Hangover and have just completed Due Date.
Phillips has claimed that Galifianakis has a great career ahead of him and could go on to do more than just comedy.
Speaking to Collider the filmmaker said: It’s over. Flash in the pan. No honestly, having done two movies with Zach, working with Zach for over now 100 days put those 2 movies together and just being with him every day, Zach has so much stuff that people haven’t seen and so much ability and even listen, Robert Downey, I think we can all say whether you want to see 'Due Date' or not is a phenomenal talent, and Robert Downey just was blown away by Zach.
I mean really thought he was special. Just his acting ability. So I think Zach can do anything he wants. And Zach, like me, is attracted to comedy but I think he can do anything he wants.
Phillips has been behind movies like Road trip and Old School but brought together an unknown cast last year for The Hangover.
It was the sleeper hit of the summer as it went on to gross $467 million at the global box office, a sequel is already in the pipeline.
Due Date sees the director re-unite with Galifianakis, which will arrive in cinemas at the end of the year.
The movie follows a high-strung father-to-be Peter Highman (Downey Jr) who is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.
