Tilda Swinton has pledged her support to the Sundance Film Festival.
The actress highlighted the importance of the festival and putting independent films and independent movie makers in the spotlight.
In an interview with the BBC she said: "Sundance is morphing all the time. It does seem to be true that for a film that's not a big studio picture that has a gazillion dollar ad budget to play, it's really important to have a film here.
"For better for worse, if you like it or not. If you can get by without being gifted then all to the good.
"It's a place where people come, buzz can start, and now with viral media, I think it's become even more important."
The Sundance Film Festival is the largest independent film festival in America and was set up by Robert Redford back in 1978.
