Thor continues to reign over the U.S. box office as it took a further $34.5 million to hold off the competition from Bridesmaids.
The latest Marvel movie, which is making a star out of leading man Chris Hemsworth, is proving to be a hit with both audiences and critics.
Bridesmaids, which is being called the female The Hangover, had to settle for second as it took $22.4 million in it's opening weekend.

Something Borrowed was this week's biggest fallers as it was down three at seven while Water For Elephants fell two from six to eight.
Madea'a Big Happy Family was another two place faller at nine while Soul Surfer stayed put to round off the top ten.
