Thor has stayed at the top of the UK box office for a second week.

The latest Marvel Comic book movie to hit the big screen took a further £1.9 million to see off the tough competition from Fast Five.

The Kenneth Branagh directed movie is top of the box office both sides of the Atlantic and has done well with the critics.

Fast Five also stayed put as it held on second taking £1.6 million it just missed out on a return to the top.

There was also no change for horror movie Insidious at three while Water For Elephants was the first of the new entries at four.

The movie sees Reese Witherspoon team up with Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz in the adaptation of the Sara Gruen novel.

A veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a travelling circus as their vet.

Hanna, which is directed by Joe Wright, was new at five with Something Borrowed, which stars Kate Hudson, also new in at six.

Rio was down three at seven and Priest was the fourth and final new entry inside the top ten this week at eight.

Arthur and Hop were this week's biggest fallers both down four places as they ended the weekend at nine and ten.
