The Wolverine's plot synopsis has finally been revealed.
Hugh Jackman is set to reprise the role of Logan next year and while we know the movie would see the character in Japan little more about the plot was known.
Director had already promised us a more vulnerable side to the character in an on set interview that he did with Jackman last month but now 20th Century Fox have revealed what we can expect.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan.
Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed.
Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
It will be the first time that Jackman has taken on the character since X-Men Origins: Wolverine back in 2009 - however he did cameo in X-Men: First Class.
Mangold is back in the director's chair for the first time since Knight and Day and he is directing his first comic book blockbuster movie.
The Wolverine is released 25th July.
