After the enormous success of the Hunger Games, the hunt is on to find a new director for the sequel, Catching Fire.
Two more directors have been added to the list of potential names. According to The Playlist, Francis Lawrence, who directed I am Legend and more recently Water For Elephants. The second name to be rumoured is Bennett Miller. He is the director of Moneyball and was also an Oscar nominee in 2006 for the movie Capote.
This search has come after Hunger Games director Gary Ross stepped down, after discovering that filming of the next movie will have to be under strict timetables.
The tight schedule for the movie, is due mainly to Jennifer Lawrence’s, who plays leading lady Katniss Everdeen, commitments to the X-Men First Class sequel. She will take on her role as mutant Mystique, which is set to be filmed in January of next year.
Other names of potential directors are; David Cronenberg, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Alfonso Cuaron and Steven Soderbergh. The latter actually worked as the second unit director on the film.
Catching Fire is set to be released for November 2012.
