The Host is the latest Stephenie Meyer novel to be adapted into a movie and will see Oscar nominated actress Saoirse Ronan return to the big screen.
Meyer has already enjoyed major box office success with The Twilight Saga being a huge hit and now she is hoping that this latest adaptation will follow suit.
Ronan is one of the most exciting young actresses working in Hollywood at the moment and she will take on the lead character of Melanie Stryder in the film.
This character poster of Ronan as Melanie is the first to be released for the film as the release creeps ever closer.
An all star cast has been assembled for the movie as Diane Kruger, Jake Abel, Max Iron and William Hurt will support Ronan.
Andrew Niccol has adapted Meyer's novel and is also in the director's chair for the film.
Niccol is not stranger to sci-fi having been behind In Time and Gattaca in the past.
The Host is a riveting story about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy.
Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed.
The science fiction genre is set to be a very exciting one in 2013 and The Host looks set to kick off that success.
The Host is released 22nd March
