The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2012 and a new image of Richard Armitage has been released.
Armitage is set to play Thorin Oakenshield in the Peter Jackson directed movie - a film that will be the biggest of his career to date.
Thorin Oakenshield is the head of the band of dwarves that set out on an adventure with Bilbo Baggins.
This time around Bilbo will be played by Martin Freeman while Ian McKellan is back as Gandalf.
It was announced earlier this summer that The Hobbit will be split into three movies instead of the originally planned two.
Armitage has enjoyed a successful career in TV with the likes of Spooks and Strike Back under his belt.
We saw him in Captain AmericaL The First Avenger last year and he is currently filming Category Six.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is released 14th December.
