Texas Chainsaw 3D has brought the reign of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to an end as it has topped the U.S. box office.
The movie took $23 million in it's opening weekend to hold of the challenge from Django Unchained and claim the top spot.
There was no move for the Quentin Tarantino movie at number two while the first instalment of The Hobbit dropped two places to number three.
The new movie from Peter Jackson has so far grossed in excess of $824.8 million at the global box office so far.
Les Miserables and Parental Guidance were both down a single place as they rounded out the top five at four and five.
Jack Reacher was out of the top five this week as it dropped a single place to six while comedy This Is 40 was also down one at seven.
There was just a single place drop for Lincoln and The Guilt Trip as they finished the weekend at eight and nine.
Promised Land was the second and final new entry in the top ten this week at number ten.
The movie sees Matt Damon return to the big screen as he and co-star John Krasinski also penned the script while Gus Van Sant is in the director's chair.
